Barbara Fuqua

Barbara Ann Fuqua, 87, formerly of Bement, IL., passed away at 4:43 P.M. on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the HSHS St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Barbara was born on October 18, 1935, in Decatur, IL., a daughter of John and Mildred King Bolsen. She married Buddy Wrightson and together they had five children; John Wrightson of Champaign, IL., Susan Wrightson of DeLand, IL., Kelly (Bob) Ensign of Milmine, IL., Laura Tarvin of Arkansas, and Roy Wrightson of Mattoon, IL. Barbara later married James Elmer Fuqua and he passed away on December 21, 1987.

Barbara had six grandchildren whom she loved and adored as well as her great-grandchildren. She loved watching them grow, and loved spending time with them as much as she could. Adam (Jamie) Lambert of Decatur, IL., Jesse (Kailey) Lambert of Mahomet, IL., Brittany (James) Bates of Lovington, IL., Shonda (Mitchell) Ensign of Atwood, IL., Nicole Wrightson of Arkansas, and Austin Wrightson of Kentucky. She had 13 great-grandchildren who she loved so much. She had many nieces and nephews who loved her as well. She was preceded in death by both parents, and siblings; Glenn Bolsen, Jack Bolsen and Nancy Medaris.

Barbara retired from the Piatt County Nursing Home, and previously worked at the Bement Health Care Center as a Dietary-Aid. She loved bingo, crocheting, her fingernails painted, jigsaw puzzles, sewing blankets, and sending good morning text to her friends and family. The family would like to thank the I.C.U. Nurses and St. Mary's Hospital for the care she received while she was there.
