Beverly Hendrix Obituary

Beverly R. Hendrix, 74, of Chatham, IL., passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 5:30 P.M., at Sunny Acres Nursing Home, Petersburg, IL.

There will be no services at this time. Cremation rites will take place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Memorial Medical Center Foundation, Springfield, IL.

Bev was born on October 17, 1949, in Highland, IL., a daughter of Bernard and Amelia Pitonak Dycus. She married Steven L. Hendrix on July 25, 1970 in Edwardsville, IL., and he passed away on November 8, 2016. Surviving children include; Heather (Todd) Lowary of Chatham, IL., Stephanie (Justin) Kurfman of Auburn, IL., and Alicia (Chris) Walker of Charlotte, N.C., as well as a granddaughter; Clara Lowary of Chatham, IL. Also surviving is a brother; James (Alberta) Dycus of Brighton, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Bev enjoyed her family the most, including her brother Jim. Most of the time you could find her in the kitchen cooking for all the events she held at her home. Bev was a Registered Nurse and retired from Memorial Medical Center in 2013. She enjoyed crafting and her time with her Granddaughter.
