Brenda E. Shewmaker, 84, of Tuscola, IL., passed away at 10:32 P.M., on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Haven of Tuscola, IL..

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 12:00 P.M., at the Hinds Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 348 N. Piatt St., Bement, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. The Pastor Lenny Summar will officiate. Burial will be in the Bement Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bement United Methodist Church or the donors choice.

Brenda was born on June 18, 1942, in Monticello, IL., a daughter of Milard and Edna Cowley Fairbanks. Brenda is survived by a son; Steven (Sarah) Henry of Arcola, IL., 3 step-children; Michael, Deborah and Brian Shewmaker, as well as siblings; Marvin Fairbanks of Champaign, IL. and Margaret Crisman of Monticello, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband; Herb Shewmaker, Daughter; Deborah Henry.

Brenda was a member of the Bement United Methodist Church. Brenda loved her produce stands which she did for over 25 years, never meeting a stranger. She retired from Kirby Hospital, Monticello after 30 years of service, but her greatest love was spending time with family and friends.
