Clyde R. Gum

Clyde R. Gum, Jr., 60, of Bement, IL., passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 3:30 A.M., at his residence in Bement, IL.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., at the Hinds Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 348 N. Piatt St., Bement, IL. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bement E.M.T.'s., Bement, IL.

Rod was born on January 25, 1964, in Litchfield, IL., a son of Clyde Rodger and Janice Ann Dannaman Gum, Sr. He married Christina Marie Plummer Gum on April 14, 2021, in Bement, IL., and she survives of Bement. Surviving are 2 daughters; Rebecca (Jessie) Hansen of Fairmount, IL. and Rachel Gum of Bement, 2 step-children; Katherine (Gionathan) Mazariegos of Urbana, IL., and Michael Olmeda of Bement. He is also survived by grandchildren: August, Phoebe, Austin, Elias and Dominic, as well as step-mother; Sharon Daniels. Rod is survived by 7 brothers; Donald K. (Kelly) Nauert of Moberly, MO., Bruce Nauert  and Kelly Gum both of Walnut Hill, IL., Kenneth (Heather) Nauert of New Minden, IL., Jamie Daniels of Monomouth, IL., Brian (Mary) Daniels of Effingham, IL., and John Nauert, as well as 4 sisters; Lisa Sigler of Farmer City, IL., Marla Gum of Bloomington, IL., Christina (Brian) Smith of Hannibal, MO., and Marcy (Charlie) Skinner of Stuart, FL. , as well as many nieces and nephews. He wad preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter; Eden Olmeda.

Rod was a huge fan of the Fighting Illini, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, he loved fishing, shooting pool, music and hanging out with his many friends and tinkering in his garage. He will be missed by all.
