Kathryn Ann Hicks

Kathryn A. “Kathy” Hicks, 47, of Bement, IL., passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11:39 A.M., at Carle Foundation Hospital, E.R., Urbana, IL.

The family would like to honor Kathy's life with a celebration on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Albert Parker American Legion Post #620, Bement, starting at 4:00 P.M. Burial will be in Monticello Township Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Kathy was born on June 22, 1977, in Decatur, IL., a daughter of Richard and Debra Paddock Chestnut of Bement, IL. She married Casey Hicks on August 9, 1997 in Milmine, IL. and he survives of Bement. Surviving children are; Haley Ann Hicks of Weldon, IL., Cassandra (Chris) Kocher of Bement, and Richard Hicks of Bement. Surviving are 2 grandchildren; Nora Kocher and Jack Hicks. Also surviving is a brother; Chris (Amy) Chestnut of Monticello, IL. Kathy was preceded in death by a brother; Richard Chestnut III, grandmother; Jean Paddock and In-Laws, Jack and Sandy Hicks.

Kathy loved traveling the world and going to Illini basketball and Cardinal games with the love of her life, best friend, and husband Casey. She was the best mom, dog mom and most of all, Gigi to her grandbabies, Nora and Jack. She hosted everyone in the family for every Holiday. From Christmas to the 4th of July, to her favorite Halloween, she always made everyone feel at home. Kathy was also a avid APA pool player.
