Mary “Kay” Howard, 73, of Hillsboro, IL., formerly of Pesotum, IL., passed away at 6:05 P.M., on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., at the St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pesotum, IL. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pesotum EMT and Fire Department.
Kay was born on August 17, 1952 in Champaign, IL., a daughter of Joseph Francis and Billie Irene Turner Howard. Surviving are a sister, Betty Howard, sister-in-law, Karen Howard, nephews, Robert (Alissa) Howard, Alan (Lindsay) Howard and Jon (Alicia) Howard, Great Niece, Blakely, and Great-Nephews, Hutley, Maverick, Owen, Teddy and Nolan, as well as cousins, Butch (Ella) Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bob and Tom Howard.
Kay was a 1970 graduate of Tolono Unity. She retired from Carle Clinic. Kay and her brother Tom worked for 30 years at the University of Illinois sporting events. A proud ILLINI & CHIEF supporter, as well as a fan of the Chicago Cubs. She loved to play Bingo with her mother.
