Ralph “David” Fay, 80, of Bement, IL., passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 10:23 A.M., at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., at the Hinds Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 348 N. Piatt St., Bement. The Rev. Steve Ingram will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M., until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors for the Air Force veteran will be presented by the Albert Parker American Legion Post #620, Bement, in the Bement Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.
David was born on January 21, 1945, in Monticello, IL., a son of Ralph Vincent and Geraldine M. Selle Fay. David is survived by his brother; Richard (Pat) Fay of Bement, 2 step-sons; Greg and Kevin Whightsil, as well as 2 nieces; Julie Smith and Kimberlee Strack. Also surviving are 2 great-nieces; Alexandra Smith, Emilee Strack, and great-nephew; Brayden Strack. He was preceded in death by his parents.
David was a Vietnam veteran, he enjoyed dirt track racing, Nascar, and attended many Indianapolis 500 races, also enjoyed hunting deer and pheasants. He graduated from Bement High School in 1963, and after graduation worked for Kraft Foods for over 30 years.
