Rex Crisman, 83, of Monticello, IL., passed away at 5:25 P.M., on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the Hinds Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 348 N. Piatt St., Bement. The Rev. Steve Ingram will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bement Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.
Rex was born on May 11, 1942, in DeLand, IL., a son of George and Mary Frances Madden Crisman. He married Margaret Fairbanks Fogerson on June 5, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada and she survives of Monticello. Rex has 3 children; Scott (Donna) Crisman of Decatur, IL., Angela McKibben of Memphis, TN. , and Mandy (Ryan) Moss of Memphis, TN., He also has 2 step-daughters; Deonna (Mike) King of Tuscola, IL., and Jacki (Tom) Walsh of Monticello. He has 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also surviving is a sister; Dixie (Crisman) Tinoco. He was preceded in death by his parents, 14 brothers and sisters.
Rex had a large family that he loved fiercely. After high school, he served our country as a member of the Navy eventually settling in Memphis, TN., where he lived for over 50 years until moving back to central, IL.
Rex loved being at the softball field, whether he was playing, coaching or watching his kids and grandkids. He often told stories of coaching his daughter's softball team to the Red Devils City Championship and spent the last few years watching his granddaughter, Sadie Grace Walsh on the Sages field. Rex was an inviting, easy going and generous man who will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
