Rick Baker

Rick D. Baker, 66, of Bement, IL., passed away at 9:55 P.M., on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at his residence in Bement, IL.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Bement United Methodist Church, 249 N. Piatt St., Bement, IL. Services will follow at 3:00 P.M., on Wednesday at the church. A celebration of life will immediately follow the service at the Albert Parker American Legion Post, Bement. Pastor Naomi Roberts will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at the Bement Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bement United Methodist Church or the Bement Food Pantry.

Rick was born on May 12, 1958, a son of Charles and Darlene Campbell Baker. He married Etta Colclasure on July 3, 1992 in Monticello, IL., and she survives of Bement, IL. Rick is survived by his mother; Darlene Baker of Bement, children; Melissa (Daniel) Morris of Bement, Derek Baker of Champaign, Rosie Wildman of White Heath, grandchildren; Kailan, Grace, Daniel, Charlotte, Ayson, Roth, Markus, Gus, and Hunter. Rick is also survived by siblings; Randy (Carol) Baker of Savoy and Pam (Doug) McDonald of Mt. Vernon, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, nephew; Tyler and uncle; Kenny.

Rick was so proud that he was able to start the South Piatt JFL program, he was a SAL member of the Albert Parker American Legion Post, a avid fisherman, loved riding his Harley, coaching was a huge passion of his, and loved farming with his grandfather. His proudest accomplishment though was graduating from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in History and Education at the age of 50.
