Robert Crawford

Robert R. “Bob” Crawford, 79, of Champaign, IL., passed away at 5:07 P.M., on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL., surrounded by his family.

Bob was born on September 29, 1944, in Winthrop, MA., a son of Robert and Marion Crawford. He is survived by his sister; Donna, and brother; Michael (Becky). He married Jodi Dye in 1968 and they moved to Champaign. He leaves two children; Shad Crawford and Misti (Sam) Hall. He had 7 grandchildren; Madison, Mallory, Kayden, Rebecca (Jesse), Kimberly (Brooks), Steven and Taylor (Michael), and 6 great-grandchildren; Brantley, Leighton, Landon, Grayson, Walker and Landry.

Bob made Champaign his home when he married Jodi and joined the Robert Dye family in running the local Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants for 31 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. He was an avid fan of the Patriots and the Red Sox. He was also known around town for walking many miles a day to ward off back pain. He will be missed by all and his wishes were to have a private service.
