Willard Ellsworth Brewer

Willard Ellsworth Brewer, 97, of Urbana, IL., passed away peacefully at 12:55 A.M., on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Accolade Healthcare of Savoy.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the Webber Street Christian Church, 107 S. Webber St., Urbana, IL. The Rev. Tim Barber and Rev. Hank Sanford will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:30 P.M. until time of services on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the C-U Church.

Willard was born on August 1, 1926, in Sadorus, IL., a son of Herman and Edith Wilson Brewer. Married 72 years, he married Rosa Boyd on September 9, 1951, in Urbana, IL., and she survives. Surviving children include; Anita Brewer of Mountain View, CA., Rick Brewer of Oceano, CA., and Roger Brewer of Weatherford, TX., Surviving are 4 grandchildren; Linden Brewer, Caleigh (Richard) Allen, Sarah (Adam) Allen and Landii Brewer as well as 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews, as well as extended family, Richard and Lynne Barnes, and Ben, Jennifer, Maggie and Sebastian Newell. He was the youngest of 9 children and they have all preceded him in death, as well as his parents, daughter-in-law; Beth Brewer and grandson; Thomas Brewer.

Willard had his own cabinetmaking and custom woodworking business in Urbana for 60+ years. For much of his life he was a member of the Webber Street Christian Church in Urbana and served as elder there for many years. He recently attended the Windsor Road Christian Church, C-U Church and First Christian Church. Spreading the Gospel was very important to Willard. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
